Designing through real stories
At Kaliber, I designed the website to make this message tangible and relatable. The core idea was simple: let the people already working at Slachtofferhulp tell their stories. I designed quote components that let employees and volunteers share their experiences. These notes that look handwritten appear throughout the website, making the platform feel personal and encouraging.
A visual language of safety and trust
The visual design reinforces safety and approachability: soft colors create a calm environment, while portrait photos make the organization feel human and welcoming. To enhance intimacy, colored circles behind the main subjects subtly bring them closer to the user, creating a sense of presence.
Personality in motion
We also included personal stories from employees, with large portraits that break out of their containers to emphasize individuality. Micro-animations with soft, bouncy effects add a final touch, making the platform feel dynamic, safe, and personal.
Empowering people to take the next step
Visitors can easily explore the application process, hear real stories, and feel empowered to take the next step. By combining storytelling with thoughtful design, the website lowers the threshold for joining and makes the organization feel human, accessible, and welcoming.
